Digipak
A Digipak is a patented style of CD, DVD or BD packaging” Digipak-style packaging is often used for CD singles or special editions of CD albums. Traditionally a Digipak has 4-panels for putting on the artwork and a plastic CD tray glued inside a folding cardboard cover. Ther are many features to the digipak, these are:
Digipaks were the first alternative to jewel cases so the term Digipak was used generically even if the media holder was a hub rather than a full plastic tray.
Digipaks consist of a book paperboard with one or two plastic trays inside which hold the CD or DVD.
Digipaks are usually used for the release of a single or a special edition of CD albums. Similarly for DVD's, the DVDigipack is used for premium packaging for DVDs and DVD sets.
